2011 Ride Information
AR2011-0523-05 Mission Transition Task Force Commander, Brigadier-General Charles Lamarre (slight left) participates in the 24-Hour Spin-A-Thon for the Boomer's Legacy Spin-A-Thon at Kandahar Airfield at the Canadian Gym. The goal of the MTTF 24-Hour Spin-A-Thon was to raise funds for humanitarian projects in Afghanistan. Boomer’s Legacy is a foundation that helps build awareness, and funds essential surgeries for children, midwife training, and supports athletic programs for the youth. Boomer’s Legacy was started in memory of Corporal Andrew Eykelenboom, a Canadian Forces Medical Technician killed in Afghanistan in 2006. The Mission Transition Task Force is responsible to conduct mission closure of Operation ATHENA in order to enable the Canadian Forces to transition to subsequent operations as directed by the Government of Canada. AR2011-0523-10 Corporal Guy Martel-Laflamme, a member of the Mission Transition Task Force (MTTF), rode the full 24-hr duration of Boomer's Legacy Spin-A-Thon at Kandahar Airfield at the Canadian Gym.
