Media are invited to attend the 5th Annual Boomer’s BC Bike Ride ceremony at the BC Legislative Grounds on Saturday 16 June at 4:30 p.m. to mark the conclusion of a two-day fundraising event.
A contingent of approximately 100 cyclists consisting of civilians and military personnel will conclude a 240 km ride that began on Friday, 15 June from Comox and continued along the Island Hwy.
An official Bike Ride Closing Ceremony will be held with Chris Coleman, Acting Mayor of Victoria; Commander Mike Knippel, Chief of Staff Maritime Pacific; and Capt (N) Craig Baines, Commander of CFB Esquimalt, present to address cyclists, their families and friends.
The bike ride is a fundraising event in support of Boomer’s Legacy, a foundation created in 2006 to bring awareness to the Canadian Force’s efforts on deployed operations around the globe and to raise funds that soldiers, sailors and airmen and women can access to further help the people in communities where they serve.
